CMS & builds

1–1 of 1

An open source ecommerce platform is the engine your storefront runs on: catalogue, cart, checkout, payments and shipping. This section holds ready-made builds — you download the archive, deploy it on your own hosting and get a working store rather than an empty framework.

What is worth comparing when you pick an engine:

  • Who owns the data. On a hosted platform your store lives on someone else's server and your access is tied to the subscription. A self-hosted engine runs on your hosting, with your database and your backups.
  • What happens when you stop paying. A perpetual licence means the version you installed stays yours. That is not the same as a free trial.
  • Local reality.Shipping and payments, fiscal receipts — either in the box or something your developer has to write.
  • Who can change the code. If your own developer will grow the store, they need to see the code, not only the settings screens.

A build does not replace the launch itself: the domain, the hosting, the catalogue content and the copy are still yours to bring. What is inside, though, runs with no trial period — it is the same code this marketplace runs on.
