Compliance

1–1 of 1

Once a store starts shipping abroad, a product carries more than delivery: who the responsible person in the EU is, whether a California warning applies, what marking the item needs for the UK. Writing that "somewhere in the description" does not work — marketplaces and customs expect structured data.

  • The compliance module — adds GPSR (EU), UKCA (UK) and Prop 65 (US) fields to your product and manufacturer records.

Two things worth knowing. First, fields appear only for the markets you have enabled, so the product form does not fill up with requirements that are not yours. Second, for the EU it also acts as a gate: a product missing required data does not reach the listing — the mistake is caught before publication rather than after a complaint.

⚠️ The module provides the structure for this data; it does not decide which requirements apply to your particular product. That depends on the item category and the market — verify it with whoever owns compliance in your company.

If you are not selling abroad yet, you do not need this category — start with shipping and payments.
